GTA 6: Ex-Developer Hints at Groundbreaking Realism
Rockstar Games Sets a New Standard with GTA 6
In a recent interview with GTAVIoclock, former Rockstar Games developer Ben Hinchliffe shared his perspective on GTA 6, drawing on his experience contributing to several Rockstar titles, including GTA 6, GTA 5, Red Dead Redemption 2, and L.A. Noire.
Hinchliffe expressed his excitement about GTA 6's evolution, highlighting the significant advancements in content and storyline. He emphasized the game's progress since his departure, noting substantial changes and refinements to the final product.
Rockstar Games unveiled the official GTA 6 trailer last year, showcasing the new protagonists, the Vice City setting, and a glimpse into the crime-filled adventure awaiting players. Scheduled for release in Fall 2025 exclusively for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, details about the game have been carefully guarded. However, Hinchliffe confirmed that GTA 6 represents a significant leap forward for Rockstar Games, setting a new benchmark for the series.
He pointed to the consistent evolution of realism in Rockstar's games, stating that GTA 6 continues this trend, with more realistic character behaviors and interactions. "I think [Rockstar Games] has raised the bar again, just like they always do," he commented.
Since Hinchliffe's departure three years ago, GTA 6 has undoubtedly undergone extensive refinement and performance optimization. Hinchliffe suggested that Rockstar's current focus likely centers on bug fixing and addressing any development issues.
Regarding fan reaction, Hinchliffe predicted an overwhelmingly positive response, emphasizing the game's unparalleled realism. "It will blow people away. It will sell an absolute ton, as it always does," he stated, expressing his enthusiasm for players to finally experience the game.
