Alkimia Interactive, the creative force behind the much-anticipated Gothic 1 Remake, has given journalists from various outlets an exclusive sneak peek at a brand-new demo. Originally crafted for Gamescom, this demo is now slated to be available to the public soon.
This demo acts as an appetizer to the full game, introducing a fresh protagonist named Niras, diverging from the iconic Nameless Hero. Niras, a fellow prisoner, steps into the Miners' Valley, engaging with its denizens and laying the groundwork for the overarching story.
Back in 2024, at Gamescom, developers unveiled an exclusive prologue demo centered on Niras' entry into the Colony and his initial encounters with its challenging setting and inhabitants. This demo, soon to be released to the public, will let players globally dive into the revamped world of Gothic. Both the demo and the final game have been reconstructed almost entirely from the ground up, promising extended gameplay, a deeper focus on orcs, and enhanced immersive features. Fans can look forward to a more enriched and captivating experience compared to the original.
The latest demo for Gothic 1 Remake will be available on Steam during the Steam Next Fest event. It will be free to play from the evening of February 24th to the evening of March 3rd, after which it will no longer be accessible. The full release of Gothic 1 Remake is scheduled for later this year on PC (Steam, GOG), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
