To celebrate the launch of the "Nyras Prologue" demo for the Gothic 1 Remake, THQ Nordic and Alkimia Interactive have unveiled an exciting new trailer. In a departure from the original game, where players embodied the Nameless Hero, the remake introduces us to Nyras, a prisoner navigating the same perilous world with the same ultimate goal: survival.
The demo, released during the Steam Next Fest event, has already achieved a significant milestone by setting a record for the highest number of concurrent players among all titles in the Gothic series:

The demo showcases a segment of the remake, featuring enhanced graphics, refined animations, and a combat system powered by Unreal Engine 5. While the prologue provides a taste of what's to come, it cannot fully capture the extensive freedom of action and the deep RPG mechanics that await players in the complete version of the game.
Gothic Remake is set to launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC (available on Steam and GOG), though an official release date has yet to be disclosed.
