Marvel Rivals Season 1: A Double-Sized Debut
Get ready for a massive start to Marvel Rivals! Season 1: Eternal Night Falls, launching January 10th at 1 AM PST, boasts double the content of a typical season. This unprecedented expansion is due to the developers' decision to introduce the Fantastic Four as a unified group, a move they felt enhanced the overall experience.
Expect a wealth of new content, including three new maps showcasing iconic New York City locations:
- Sanctum Sanctorum: Launching alongside Season 1, this map sets the stage for the new Doom Match game mode.
- Midtown: This map will be the backdrop for intense Convoy missions, pitting heroes against each other in the city streets.
- Central Park: Details on this map remain scarce, but further information is promised closer to the mid-season update.
The initial wave of Fantastic Four heroes, Mister Fantastic (Duelist) and Invisible Woman (Strategist), arrive with Season 1. The Thing and Human Torch are slated to join the roster approximately six to seven weeks later, during the mid-season update.
While the extended Season 1 length has been confirmed, the developers haven't yet clarified its impact on future content releases. However, the current expectation is that future seasons will continue to introduce two new characters per season.
The absence of Blade, a much-anticipated addition, has disappointed some fans. While he's not part of this initial release, the possibility of his future inclusion remains open. With the abundance of new content and ongoing speculation, the future of Marvel Rivals looks incredibly promising.
