Secure a Free Bow Early in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
Early-game combat in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 can be challenging, leaving Henry initially unarmed. Fortunately, acquiring the Dogwood Village Bow early and without cost is possible. This guide details how to obtain this valuable weapon.
After separating from Hans, your path to the wedding involves either working for a blacksmith or miller. Regardless of your chosen profession, the blacksmith's location conveniently marks the bow's whereabouts on your map. While the blacksmith job offers access to Semine's wedding and eventually, the hermit's sword, the bow is obtainable beforehand.
The blacksmith resides in Tachov, north of Troskowitz (the prologue's end). West of Troskowitz, follow the path north. At the road split, with a smaller western path, turn right towards a cluster of trees. This seemingly unremarkable area hides a small training ground.
Within the trees, locate a target with arrows. Collect these for ammunition. To the right of the target, against a tree trunk, rests the Dogwood Village Bow. Nearby, you'll find brew and mushrooms. Once you've gathered your supplies, resume your quest.
Alternative Acquisition Methods
While purchasable from Huntsman's Son Vitek in Tachov, the Dogwood Village Bow isn't the most powerful ranged weapon. Given its proximity to the free bow, purchasing it isn't cost-effective. However, Vitek offers superior weapons, and alchemy (herb gathering and potion brewing) provides an alternative income stream.
Regardless of your chosen method, a ranged weapon significantly improves combat, especially for players who prefer this style over melee. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's combat, while similar to the first game, may not appeal to all players.
After securing the bow (free or purchased), continue to Tachov for the blacksmith job (saving after sword forging), or proceed to the miller to advance the main quest.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is available on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
