Forspoken, despite being a free PS Plus title nearly a year after its release, continues to spark heated debate among players.
The December 2024 PS Plus Extra and Premium additions, including Forspoken and Sonic Frontiers, generated surprisingly positive initial responses. However, this enthusiasm hasn't been universally shared.
Many free-to-play users abandoned Forspoken after a short time, criticizing the "ridiculous dialogue" and weak storyline. While some appreciated the combat, parkour, and exploration, the overall feeling is that the narrative and dialogue significantly detract from the experience.
It seems unlikely that PS Plus will significantly revive Forspoken's fortunes, given its inconsistent nature. The game follows Frey, a New Yorker transported to the breathtaking yet perilous land of Atia. Armed with newfound magical abilities, she must navigate this vast region, battle formidable creatures, and defeat powerful matriarchs known as the Tants to find her way back home.
