Finn Jones Acknowledges Critiques, Eager to Prove Doubters Wrong

Charlie Cox's portrayal of Daredevil has seamlessly transitioned from Netflix to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), sparking speculation about potential comebacks for other members of The Defenders. Finn Jones, who last played Danny Rand, aka Iron Fist, in the 2018 Netflix series and The Defenders, has expressed his eagerness to reprise his role. "I’m here and I’m ready," Jones declared, signaling his readiness to return to the MCU.

Jones last donned the Iron Fist mantle seven years ago, teaming up with Charlie Cox's Daredevil, Mike Colter's Luke Cage, and Krysten Ritter's Jessica Jones in the Netflix series. Despite the mixed reception to his portrayal, the successful reintegration of Daredevil into the MCU has fueled hopes for a revival of The Defenders. Recent reports suggest Marvel is "exploring" the possibility of bringing back the team.

At the LaConve anime convention in Monterrey, NL, Mexico, Jones openly addressed the criticism he received for his portrayal of Iron Fist. "There is a willingness for the fans to see that happen," he told the audience, acknowledging both the support and the skepticism surrounding his potential return. "There’s a lot of willingness for the fans to see that not happen as well. I’m very aware of the critiques of the character and my role in it."

Jones passionately responded to the critiques, stating, "My response to that is like, give me a f***ing chance, man. I’m here and I’m ready. I want to prove people wrong. So I would love to see that happen."

Daredevil: Born Again continues the story that began on Netflix, which hosted a smaller-scale Marvel universe featuring shows like Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage. These series, along with the broader Defenders storyline, are now officially part of the MCU canon, available on Disney+. Jon Bernthal's Punisher, another Netflix alum, also makes an appearance in Daredevil: Born Again.
