Explore Spider-Woman's Origins in New Marvel Contest of Champions Update

Marvel Contest of Champions is set to thrill players with a slew of exciting updates in April, featuring the much-anticipated addition of Spider-Woman and another intriguing champion, Lumatrix.

Here’s the Backstory of Spider-Woman in the World of Marvel Contest of Champions

Spider-Woman, whose real name is Jessica Drew, had a life-altering experience as a child when she was exposed to uranium near her home. Her father, a brilliant geneticist, attempted to save her by injecting her with a concoction of spider DNA. After years of battling the experiment's side effects, Jessica emerged with spider-like powers, ultimately becoming the formidable Spider-Woman. Players can look forward to adding this new champion to their roster starting April 17th.

However, before Spider-Woman makes her debut, another champion, Lumatrix, will join the fray on April 9th. Designed by the Founders as a lethal assassin, Lumatrix specializes in infiltration and elimination, using his dazzling light-based powers to devastating effect.

What Else Is New?

On the narrative front, Act 9 Chapter 2, dubbed "Inquisition," unfolds with Carina suffering severe injuries after a run-in with Ouroborus' forces. Meanwhile, Doctor Doom surprisingly teams up with the Fantastic Four to combat the spreading corruption of Chronoserpent. A new villain, Lotan, also enters the scene, adding more layers to the storyline.

The Spy Games Event Quest kicks off on April 9th and will run until May 7th. In this quest, Black Widow delves into the enigma of the Eidols, enlisting Spider-Woman's help to unravel the mystery.

Dark Phoenix is set to return in the Side Quest titled Dark Bounties. Players will need to track down champions targeted by Dark Phoenix's bounty to claim their rewards.

Additionally, the Incursions: Dark Phoenix Saga Sector makes a comeback, challenging players to assemble their most powerful Saga champions to earn Dark Plumes, Light Essence, Tier 7 Basic Fragments, and 7-Star Class Signature Stones.
