Nightreign Unveils 6th Class: The Ironeye

A Precision-Fueled Sniper Class

FromSoftware has officially revealed the Ironeye, the latest playable character class in *Elden Ring: Nightreign*, offering players a fresh and agile approach to long-range combat. This new class emphasizes speed and precision, wielding a powerful bow setup that allows for devastating attacks from afar. The official character trailer highlights its unique abilities, including wall-running mechanics that enable dynamic mid-air shots, and even a surprising riposte move—landing a fatal arrow straight to an enemy’s heart.

The recent closed network test in February gave players access to four of the eight available classes: the balanced Wylder, defensive Guardian, acrobatic Duchess, and spellcasting Recluse. With the Ironeye now confirmed as the sixth class, fans are eagerly anticipating the reveal of the final two characters before the game's full release.

One of the standout features showcased alongside the Ironeye is a refined aiming system designed to improve headshot accuracy. This enhancement not only elevates the gameplay experience for ranged users but also raises hopes among the community that similar improvements could eventually be integrated into the original Elden Ring title—potentially making bows a more viable and appealing option for players who previously favored melee builds.

As discussions continue across platforms like Reddit, many have noted how underwhelming ranged combat felt in the base game due to the overwhelming effectiveness of close-quarters combat. With Nightreign’s Ironeye class demonstrating the potential power of bows, it may inspire a new wave of players to embrace ranged playstyles.

Elden Ring: Nightreign, a standalone expansion within the Elden Ring universe, is set to launch on May 30, 2025, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S at a price of $39.99. For more updates and in-depth coverage, stay tuned to Game8’s [ttpp] dedicated content.
