EA to Shut Down The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Have you ever immersed yourself in the world of *The Simpsons: Tapped Out*, the engaging city-building mobile game developed by EA (Electronic Arts)? Launched initially in 2012 on the Apple's App Store and subsequently in 2013 on Google Play, this game has entertained fans for a remarkable twelve years. Unfortunately, EA has announced that they will be sunsetting the game.

When Is It Shutting Down?

In-app purchases for *The Simpsons: Tapped Out* have already been disabled. As of October 31st, 2024, the game will no longer be available for download. However, if you're eager to enjoy it for as long as you can, you'll be able to continue playing until the servers go offline on January 24th, 2025.

EA's announcement included a heartfelt thank you to all the players who have been part of this journey. The collaboration with *The Simpsons* and *The Walt Disney Company* enabled players to create their own versions of Springfield for over a decade.

You Still Have The Chance, Will You Play The Simpsons: Tapped Out?

If you haven't yet experienced *The Simpsons: Tapped Out* and are curious to give it a go before it's gone, here's a brief overview. The game places you in charge of Springfield, tasked with rebuilding the town after Homer's accidental meltdown obliterates it.

From Homer's chaotic rebuilding efforts to the involvement of Marge, Lisa, and Bart in getting the town back on its feet, you have the freedom to design Springfield as you see fit. You can interact with a variety of characters, including Fat Tony, and dress them up in unique outfits like Daredevil Bart. Expand your town to include Springfield Heights and even manage the Kwik-E-Mart like Apu.

*The Simpsons: Tapped Out* operates on a freemium model, frequently releasing updates that tie into the show's storylines and real-life holiday events. While the game is free to download, donuts serve as the premium currency that enhances your gameplay experience.

If you're interested in trying it out before the game is discontinued, you can still download it from the Google Play Store. And don't forget to check out our coverage on *eBaseball: MLB Pro Spirit*, a new game set to launch on mobile this fall!
