Dungeonborne Officially Set to Shut Down

The creators of the PvPvE action game Dungeonborne, inspired by the popular Dark and Darker, have regretfully announced the end of support for the game and the imminent closure of its servers. This project, which launched with much anticipation, unfortunately lasted less than a year before succumbing to low player engagement and a lack of significant updates.

While Dungeonborne's Steam page remains accessible, it has been removed from the platform's search results and can only be accessed via a direct link. Although the official reasons for the shutdown remain undisclosed, it is evident that the game's extremely low player count was a critical factor in this decision. Since late 2024, the game struggled to maintain more than 200 concurrent players, with recent days seeing activity plummet to a mere 10-15 players.

The servers for Dungeonborne are scheduled for permanent closure on May 28, marking the end of this short-lived project's history. Despite initial interest from fans of the genre, Dungeonborne will now fade into the past, leaving behind unrealized potential and a cautionary tale for developers in the competitive gaming industry.
