A demo of the fan-made sequel Half-Life 2 Episode 3 Interlude has been released

With no official Half-Life 2 Episode 3 in sight, fans are taking matters into their own hands. A recent example is Pega_Xing's Half-Life 2 Episode 3 Interlude demo.

This fan-made sequel plunges players into an Arctic setting. Gordon Freeman awakens after a helicopter crash, pursued by the Alliance.

While the current demo is available for testing, updates are in progress. These will not only expand the narrative but also refine the original, addressing puzzles, flashlight mechanics, and level design.

The Half-Life 2 Episode 3 Interlude demo is free to download on ModDB. Adding to the excitement, earlier this year, Mike Shapiro, the voice actor for the G-Man, posted a cryptic teaser on X, hinting at "#HalfLife," "#Valve," "#GMan," and "#2025" with the promise of "unexpected surprises."

While a full game release in 2025 might be ambitious, even for Valve, a formal announcement seems plausible. Dataminer Gabe Follower reported internal playtesting of a new Half-Life title, citing sources who claim Valve is highly satisfied with the results.

Current clues strongly indicate significant progress on a new game, with the developers clearly dedicated to continuing Gordon Freeman's journey. The most exciting part? An official announcement could drop at any moment. After all, the unpredictable nature of "Valve Time" is part of the thrill.
