Deltarune’s Console Testing Going Smoothly

Saves Eventually Can Be Transferred To The Main Game

On his official Bluesky account, Toby Fox, the creator of both Deltarune and Undertale, provided an update on the ongoing console testing. Despite the workload ahead, Fox remains optimistic about the progress.

"Still console testing. There are fewer bugs, but there's a lot to go through. (Haven't even tested PS5 yet)," Fox stated. He also mentioned that the team is working on a feature that will allow players to transfer their saves from the demo (Chapters 1 and 2) to the full game upon release. This feature, recently made possible by new technology, is something Fox hopes will work seamlessly.

With the testing phase showing promising results, a release for Deltarune’s Chapters 3 and 4 might be on the horizon. Toby Fox has confirmed that these chapters will launch sometime in 2025.

Fox Namedrops New Character, Tenna

Amidst the rigorous testing and development, Toby Fox keeps fans entertained with his characteristic humor and meme-savvy updates. Known for his light-hearted approach, Fox shared a humorous interaction about a minigame he's been working on:

"I showed my family and friends a minigame I've been working on for DR (Deltarune) and they all described it as ‘a cry for help because your game is not out’," Fox posted on social media. His family reassured him it was a good thing, while a friend couldn't stop laughing for ten minutes.

This snippet sparked speculation among fans, especially since Fox had previously stated in 2024 that the content for Chapters 3 and 4 was complete. Some believe the minigame could be a sneak peek into Chapter 5, as Deltarune is set to encompass seven chapters in total.

Fox also dropped a hint about a new character, Tenna, during the same post. "Same friend who played Chapter 3 like over a year ago also told me ‘I miss Tenna’ and I was like ‘man that's something no one in the world has ever said huh’," he added. Tenna, previously introduced during the Spamton Sweepstakes campaign for Child’s Play charity in September 2022, is confirmed to appear in Chapter 3.
