Delta Force, previously known as Delta Force: Hawk Ops, is now available for pre-registration on iOS and Android. This relaunch by Level Infinite, a Tencent subsidiary, promises a blend of missions, modes, and tactical gameplay, marking Tencent's significant entry into the modern military shooter market. The game's anticipated launch is set for late January 2025.
For those unfamiliar, the Delta Force franchise has been a cornerstone of first-person shooter (FPS) gaming for years, predating even Call of Duty. Inspired by the US military's elite special forces unit, the series is known for its realistic action, advanced gadgets, and authentic weaponry.
Level Infinite's revival incorporates Warfare mode (large-scale combat) and Operations mode (extraction-based gameplay). A single-player campaign, drawing inspiration from the Battle of Mogadishu and the film Black Hawk Down, is also planned for 2025.
Addressing Cheating Concerns
Despite high anticipation, Delta Force has faced controversy regarding its approach to combating cheaters. Tencent's anti-cheat measures, implemented via G.T.I. Security, have drawn criticism for their perceived overreach. While these restrictions might be less impactful on mobile platforms, the initial PC-related concerns may still affect player interest.
However, the reduced likelihood of cheating on mobile could allow Delta Force to meet expectations on that platform. For a broader look at top mobile shooters, explore our list of the 15 best iOS shooters!
