Cyberpunk 2077 Lunar DLC Details Leaked

Cyberpunk 2077 enthusiasts were once teased with the prospect of an expansive DLC set in space, specifically on the Moon, but unfortunately, this ambitious project was never realized. Thanks to the diligent work of blogger and dataminer SirMZK, who sifted through the game’s code, we now have a glimpse into what CD Projekt RED had envisioned for this cosmic expansion.

Hidden within the game’s files are references to lunar surface maps, structured areas such as the Exterior Movie Set and Drug Lab, and even a model of a rover. The Moon was meant to be a vast location, possibly as large as a quarter of Night City, offering an open-world experience that would have taken players far from the familiar neon-lit streets.

A standout feature of the proposed DLC was the Crystal Palace, an elite space station. While it didn't make it into the final game, eagle-eyed players can spot the Crystal Palace in one of the game's endings, when V gazes out of a spaceship window. Further digging revealed a prototype for a zero-gravity bar, linked to a cut quest named "201," which connected to the Arasaka storyline.

The Cyberpunk community remains hopeful that some of these shelved ideas might find new life in CD Projekt RED’s upcoming project, Orion, which aims to further expand the Cyberpunk universe. However, the studio has yet to officially confirm whether these concepts will be revisited.

Although the Moon DLC remains a distant dream, the uncovered details offer a tantalizing look at what could have been—a daring leap for Cyberpunk 2077 into the realm of space exploration, seamlessly integrating with the game's iconic cyberpunk atmosphere.
