Treyarch is developing a much-requested feature for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6: in-game challenge tracking. This functionality, present in 2023's Modern Warfare 3, was notably absent from Black Ops 6 at launch, disappointing many players.
While no release date has been announced, the feature is currently under development. Its arrival may coincide with the upcoming Season 2 content update later this month. This update, released January 9th, included various bug fixes for multiplayer and zombies modes, along with an XP boost for the Red Light, Green Light mode. Significantly, Treyarch reversed a controversial Zombies change from January 3rd, removing extended round times and zombie spawn delays in Directed Mode following player feedback.
Challenge Tracking on the Horizon
Treyarch confirmed the challenge tracking feature's development via Twitter, responding to a fan inquiry. The feature's inclusion is highly anticipated, particularly by players pursuing Mastery camos. It's expected to function similarly to Modern Warfare 3, providing a real-time in-game tracker for selected challenges, eliminating the need to check progress only at the end of matches.
Additional Improvements Planned
Treyarch also confirmed that separate HUD settings for Multiplayer and Zombies are in development, addressing another player request. This would allow for customized HUD configurations without needing to constantly switch settings between game modes.
