Bullet Heaven Franchise Renewed with Medabots Survivor

By VioletFeb 19,2025

Medabot Survivors: Bullet-Hell Action for Medabots Fans, But Only in Japan (for now)

Medabot Survivors, a new bullet-hell action game based on the popular robot role-playing series, has launched in Japan for iOS and Android devices on February 10th. This exciting release brings the franchise to mobile, but unfortunately, it's currently exclusive to Japan.

As reported by Gematsu, Medabots enjoyed significant success in Japan, though it never achieved the same level of popularity in the West, unlike contemporaries such as Digimon. The choice of the "Survivors-like" genre for this mobile title is a strategic move, capitalizing on the current popularity of the genre. However, for now, the game remains inaccessible to fans outside of Japan.

The Spreading Wildfire of the "Survivors" Genre

While often associated with Vampire Survivors, the "Survivors-like" genre predates the flagship title. The release of Medabot Survivors highlights the genre's global expansion. Many excellent Japanese games remain unreleased internationally, but the potential success of Medabot Survivors could lead to a wider release in the future.
