Neowiz and Gamfs N have just released the first content update for BrownDust2 since its 1.5-year anniversary celebration in December. Dubbed Onsen Training, this update brings a sizzling new twist to the game.
Onsen Training transports players to a serene Japanese winter hot spring, but it's far from just a relaxing getaway. Expect intense swordfighting battles and a host of BrownDust2-style challenges, all spiced up with a dash of monkey mischief. Yes, it's as hilarious and chaotic as it sounds.
BrownDust2 Is Ready for an Onsen Training
The update introduces three new characters to the fray. Ventana, the story's protagonist, along with Liberta, are available for players to recruit through the pickup draw. Meanwhile, Blade remains an exclusive character tied to the narrative.
The Onsen Training event unfolds in the same universe as Character Pack 1: Jayden’s Gate of BrownDust2, featuring a total of 30 battles divided into 15 normal and 15 challenge modes.
The adventure kicks off with Ventana, the Kendo Club captain, who is reeling from a humiliating defeat at the hands of a new student, Justia. In her quest to restore her honor, Ventana heads to a snowy mountain hot spring known for enhancing physical strength. Her training, however, is thrown into disarray by the mischievous Snowy Mountain Monkeys.
Ventana's rescue comes in the form of Blade, a legendary graduate of the Kendo Club, who initially rebuffs her request for training. Enter Liberta, the hot spring manager, who steps in to help Ventana win Blade’s mentorship.
There’s a New Mini-Game
Introducing Onsen Tile Tactics, a race-against-time tile-clearing game. The event story unfolds over three weeks, starting with "Legendary Graduate" in week one and culminating in "Beyond Legend" during the third week.
Players will encounter both returning and new bosses. The first week sees the return of Giant Rou, the Fiend Hunter boss. In the third week, brace yourself for the Snowy Mountain Tyrant, a colossal monkey that grows stronger when targeting enemies with DoT effects.
Additionally, the Guild Raid boss, Rucersingha, the Ruler of the Void, makes its debut. With no elemental properties, Rucersingha unleashes devastating attacks and requires a significant number of chain stacks to defeat.
New gear and costumes are also up for grabs. The Onsen Practitioner Ventana costume is available until January 30th, followed by the Onsen Manager Liberta costume, available until February 13th.
