Blizzard's Warcraft 30th Anniversary World Tour: A Global Celebration
Blizzard Entertainment is commemorating three decades of Warcraft with a global tour featuring six fan conventions across the globe from February to May 2025. These events promise live entertainment, exclusive activities, and opportunities to connect with Warcraft developers.
Following Blizzard's decision to forgo BlizzCon in 2024 in favor of alternative events like Gamescom and the inaugural Warcraft Direct, the World Tour marks a significant shift in their engagement strategy. This tour celebrates key franchise milestones, including World of Warcraft's 20th anniversary, Hearthstone's 10th, and Warcraft Rumble's first.
The tour kicks off in London on February 22nd and travels to Seoul, Toronto, Sydney, Sao Paulo, and finally Boston (coinciding with PAX East) on May 10th.
Warcraft 30th Anniversary World Tour Dates:
- February 22 – London, United Kingdom
- March 8 – Seoul, South Korea
- March 15 – Toronto, Canada
- April 3 – Sydney, Australia
- April 19 – Sao Paulo, Brazil
- May 10 – Boston, United States (during PAX East)
While details remain scarce, the conventions are anticipated to focus on fan engagement and immersive experiences rather than major announcements. Expect live performances, unique interactive activities, and developer meet-and-greets.
Ticket acquisition will differ from traditional conventions. Blizzard has indicated that tickets will be free but extremely limited, distributed through regional Warcraft channels. Fans are advised to monitor their regional channels for further information on securing these coveted tickets.
The future of BlizzCon remains uncertain. The World of Warcraft roadmap suggests a late summer/early autumn BlizzCon could showcase content from the upcoming Midnight expansion, including the highly anticipated player housing. However, Blizzard's silence regarding BlizzCon's return in 2025 leaves open the possibility of a biennial convention schedule. Regardless, the Warcraft World Tour presents a unique opportunity for fans to celebrate the Warcraft legacy.
