Blizzard cancels Diablo 3 event extension

Diablo 3 continues its annual "Fall of Tristram" event tradition, scheduled to conclude on February 1. Some community members have expressed interest in extending the event, but this possibility has been officially dismissed.

Technical Limitations Prevent Event Extension

Community manager Pezradar addressed players' requests with a clear explanation:

"I inquired about extending the Tristram event, but unfortunately the event is hard-coded into the game. Server-side modifications aren't feasible at this time."

Season 34 Delay Impacts Player Plans

Pezradar also commented on the delayed launch of Season 34 (Call of Light), which disrupted many players' weekend schedules:

"I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. This wasn't our intended outcome. We received notification about the required schedule adjustment just 24 hours beforehand. The development team needs this additional time to implement new code that ensures proper seasonal transitions, following issues with the automated system that prematurely ended Season 33 in early January."

"This extended period allows us to properly implement and test the new transition system while safeguarding player progression data. We recognize the need for earlier community communication, and the team is committed to improving this for future season launches."

New Extraction RPG Enters Testing

Wolcen Studio recently unveiled Project Pantheon, an innovative free-to-play action RPG that incorporates extraction shooter mechanics. The first closed alpha tests begin on January 25 for European players, with North American participants joining on February 1.

Game director Andrei Cirkulete described the unique hybrid concept: "We've combined the high-stakes tension of extraction shooters with classic ARPG combat systems - imagine Diablo meets Escape from Tarkov. Player feedback during these tests will be invaluable." The game casts players as Death's messengers working to restore order in a shattered world.
