During the IGN Fan Fest on February 27, 2025, South Korean developer Neople treated fans to a new gameplay trailer for The First Berserker: Khazan. The trailer spotlighted Khazan engaging in battles against an umbrella-wielding boss and two other formidable beasts, giving a tantalizing preview of the challenges players will face.

The umbrella-wielding boss seems integral to the main storyline or at least significant, as evidenced by a brief cutscene shown before the battle commences. Although the HUD was not visible during this sequence, thus leaving us with limited information, the identities of the other two bosses were revealed. One is a wolf-like creature named Shactuka, and the other is a ram-like beast wielding a hammer and spike, known as the Specter of Bhangau.

Possible Awakened Form

A highlight of the trailer was the moment when Khazan appeared to enter an awakened form, shifting away from his usual samurai-inspired look. In this state, Khazan is enveloped in a red glow and donned in full body armor, wielding a variety of weapons and executing a range of powerful attacks.

While the game offers various combat options for Khazan, this awakened form significantly enhances his attack power and agility. The trailer showcased the game's combat mechanics, including blocking enemy projectiles, parrying, and executing swift combos. However, the minimal impact of Khazan's attacks on the bosses' health bars underscores the game's challenging, Souls-like nature.

Although the developers have not yet officially confirmed details about this awakened form, the trailer suggests that it will allow Khazan to unleash devastating damage and perform complex combos with different weapons.
