For fans of automobile simulators, mark your calendars for January 16, 2025—a historic day when Kunos Simulazioni Studios releases Assetto Corsa EVO on Steam in early access. At launch, players will be treated to 20 meticulously detailed cars and 5 iconic tracks: Imola, Brands Hatch, Bathurst, Laguna Seca, and Suzuka. Despite its early access label, the developers promise an already impressive experience with advanced physics, precise controls, and realistic car behavior.
A standout feature of the game is the free-ride mode, allowing players to explore at their leisure. A major update scheduled for the summer of 2025 will introduce roads around the renowned Nürburgring track. This fully laser-scanned open world will span up to 1600 square kilometers and is set to expand gradually.
Assetto Corsa EVO aims to set a new standard in car simulation, rivaling giants like Gran Turismo and Forza Motorsport with its photorealistic graphics and advanced physics. At its debut, the game is expected to include 100 vehicles and 15 tracks, with more to be added through future free updates. Each circuit will meticulously replicate real-world conditions, such as rolling tires or wet pavement, and feature animated spectators to enhance realism.
The developers have also refined the dynamics of the automobiles, including suspension damping and shock absorption. The Driving Academy mode, set to be one of the single-player activities available during Early Access, will challenge players to complete the aforementioned tracks within specific time limits. Successfully completing this mode will grant players a license, unlocking access to the game's top-tier cars.
