Since its release over a month ago, Assassin’s Creed Shadows (AC Shadows) has been captivating players, and Ubisoft is committed to enhancing the gaming experience with a series of upcoming updates. The developer took to Twitter (X) on May 1 to share their year 1 post-launch roadmap, which includes an array of new story and gameplay content.

A highlight of the roadmap is the introduction of new Story Drops. These are multiple free content additions designed to enrich the game's narrative and gameplay. According to Ubisoft, "These new free quests will introduce new player abilities, new allies, new world activities, and provide deeper looks and backstories for some of your favorite characters, each new piece of content expanding on the main game." This commitment to free content is a testament to Ubisoft's dedication to keeping the game fresh and engaging for its player base.

In addition to the free updates, Ubisoft is gearing up for the release of their first expansion, The Claws of Awaji, slated for later this year. This DLC introduces players to the new region of Awaji Island, which becomes accessible after the epilogue of the base game. Players can look forward to new enemies, new abilities for both protagonists, and an exclusive new weapon for Naoe. The Claws of Awaji expansion is available free of charge for those who pre-ordered AC Shadows, but it will also be available for purchase for other players.
