In Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, artifacts are crucial for boosting Skif's stats. Locating them requires an artifact detector, guiding you to their anomalous spawning points. The detector's effectiveness significantly impacts your artifact hunting success. Stalker 2 offers four distinct detectors, each detailed below:
Echo Detector - Standard Artifact Detector
Your starting detector, the Echo, is a small yellow device with a central strobe light. Its intensity and beeping frequency increase as you near an artifact. While functional, pinpointing the artifact's exact location can be time-consuming.
Bear Detector - Upgrade Over The Echo Detector
An upgrade obtained during the "A Sign of Hope" side mission or from vendors, the Bear detector improves upon the Echo. It features concentric rings around its display; the more rings illuminated, the closer you are to the artifact. Full illumination indicates you've reached the spawn point.
Hilka Detector - Precise Artifact Detector
Acquired during the "Mysterious Case" side mission from Sultan, the Hilka provides a numerical indicator of distance to the artifact. Decreasing numbers signify proximity.
Veles Detector - Best Artifact Detector In Stalker 2
The top-tier Veles detector, earned by completing the "In Search of Past Glory" main mission, boasts a radar display precisely pinpointing artifact locations within anomalous fields. It also highlights nearby hazardous anomalies, enhancing safety.
