Ark: Ultimate Mobile Edition is now available on iOS and Android! This release includes a free single-player island experience. For access to all expansions (also purchasable individually), plus additional perks, the Ark Subscription Pass is available for $4.99 monthly or $49.99 annually.
The game's launch was officially confirmed shortly after our earlier speculation. A new trailer and details have also been released. (For a general overview of Ark, please see my previous article.)
Beyond Google Play and the iOS App Store, Ark: Ultimate Mobile Edition is also launching on the Epic Games Mobile Store, expanding accessibility.
The core Ark experience is free-to-play. Expansions can be purchased individually, or players can opt for the Ark Pass Subscription. This subscription unlocks all current and future expansions, provides console commands in single-player, offers bonus XP, free key drops, and grants access to exclusive servers.
Subscription Concerns:
The subscription model might be a point of contention for some players who prefer one-time purchases. However, the option to buy expansions separately mitigates this somewhat. The nature of server access, however, could prove a significant factor, especially considering the importance of multiplayer in the original Ark: Survival Evolved.
Despite the mobile adaptation, the core gameplay remains faithful to the original Ark experience. Therefore, our existing guides, such as the beginner's guide to Ark: Survival Evolved, remain relevant for new players embarking on their dinosaur survival adventure.
