If you're a fan of Clueless and its iconic protagonist, Cher Horowitz, you're in for a treat. According to reports, Alicia Silverstone is set to return to her legendary role in a sequel series for Peacock. The show is still in the early stages of development, with few details available beyond Silverstone's involvement. What we do know is that the series will pick up where the original 1995 film left off, continuing the beloved story.
The creative team behind this new venture includes Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, renowned for their work on Gossip Girl, who will pen the script alongside Jordan Weiss. They'll also serve as executive producers, alongside Amy Heckerling, the visionary behind the original film, and Robert Lawrence, the film's original producer. CBS Studios and Universal Television will collaborate on production.
It's worth noting that this isn't the first time Clueless has graced the small screen. A TV adaptation aired on ABC and UPN from 1996 to 1999, featuring Rachel Blanchard in the lead role. Recently, Silverstone reprised her role in a Super Bowl commercial for Rakuten, hinting at her enthusiasm to rejoin Cher's world. We’re excited to see what this new chapter holds!
