Adventure Time #1 is written and illustrated by Nick Winn and Derek Ballard, continuing Finn and Jake's adventures in the Land of Ooo after the animated series finale. The opening story arc is titled "Best of Buds."

"Adventure Time played such a significant role in my formative years," Winn shared. "It wasn't just funny—it displayed an emotional depth few shows achieved at the time. Returning to Ooo through this comic has been both joyful and challenging, trying to capture that same magical energy that captivated me as a teenager."

Series editor Megan Brown added, "We're excited to bring fans back to this beloved world with fresh stories about their favorite characters. Ooo has always been home to wonderfully unique comics, and we're honored to contribute to that legacy with a talented creative team crafting tales full of friendship, heart, and exciting new challenges for Finn and Jake. 'Best of Buds' offers the perfect starting point for new readers while giving longtime fans exactly what they love."

PlayAdventure Time #1 will retail for $4.99 when it hits stores on April 9, 2025, with a final order deadline of March 17.
