The eagerly awaited Among Us 3D has finally set a release date, thrilling fans worldwide. Originally known as Among Us VR, this game has undergone a rebranding to offer a more expansive experience with cross-play multiplayer features. Schell Games and publisher Innersloth have confirmed that Among Us 3D will launch on May 6, 2025, as shared on the official Among Us Twitter (X) on April 16.
One of the exciting new additions to Among Us 3D is the introduction of Stardust, a new currency that does not expire, giving players more freedom in choosing their in-game purchases. The game will also feature a permanent Tag Mode, introducing the Infected role, native proximity voice chat, limited-time events, and a range of new and returning mini-games, along with an array of fresh cosmetics to customize your character.
It's important to note that Among Us 3D is a distinct game from the previously released Among Us VR in 2022. Schell Games has clarified that these are separate titles, and cross-play between Among Us VR and Among Us 3D will not be available. On their website, Schell Games states, "Separating the versions during this development allowed/allows us to continue to bring quality updates to our Among Us VR beans while ensuring the highest quality and tailored experience for our new PC players."
Wishlist Campaign
Among Us 3D is now up for wishlisting on Steam, and Schell Games has launched a wishlist campaign named the Powered By Wishlists Challenge. This campaign offers fans the chance to unlock several in-game rewards by reaching specific wishlist milestones. The rewards include:
- 333,333 Wishlists - A New Hat
- 444,444 Wishlists - Another New Hat
- 555,555 Wishlists - A Cosmetic Surprise
- 777,777 Wishlists - Suspiciously New Exciting Cosmetic(s)
While the rewards for the last two milestones remain a mystery, fans can anticipate some fantastic loot to kickstart their journey as crewmates. Among Us 3D is slated for release on PC on May 6, 2025.
