Choose your adventure: the 13-inch model, starting at $999 (a $100 discount from the previous generation), or the 15-inch model at $1199. The M4 chip delivers a noticeable boost in processing power and battery life, boasting a 10-core CPU, 8-core GPU, 16GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage as standard. For power users, configurations with a 10-core GPU, 32GB of RAM, and up to 2TB of storage are available.
What else is new? Visually, the most striking addition is the Sky Blue color option—a subtly tinted silver. Other color choices include Midnight (black), Starlight (gold), and Silver (silver). While Space Gray is no longer offered, its aesthetic is largely covered by Midnight or Silver. Whichever color you select, your MagSafe charging cable will match.
The built-in "Center Stage camera" now boasts a 12-megapixel sensor, promising significantly improved video calls.
While not strictly necessary for existing MBA users, Apple claims the M4 is twice as fast as the M1 MacBook Air, making it a worthwhile upgrade. Compared to the latest Intel-based MacBooks, the improvement is even more dramatic—a claimed 23x speed increase.
