Minnesota Whist, a popular variation in Minnesota and South Dakota, is a unique partnership game without trumps. The objective shifts depending on the bid: "high" bids aim for seven or more tricks, while "low" bids target six or fewer.

Perfect for honing your card skills, Minnesota Whist blends strategic thinking and teamwork in a fast-paced, engaging experience. Collaborate with your AI partner to outsmart your rivals and be the first team to reach the win target (either 7 or 13 tricks).

Track your performance with detailed session and all-time stats to monitor your improvement. Customize your game experience with various options:

  • Adjustable win target
  • Set bonus option
  • Difficulty levels (easy, medium, hard)
  • Normal or fast gameplay
  • Landscape or portrait mode
  • Single-click play toggle
  • Ascending/descending card sorting
  • Hand replay from play or bid
  • Round history review
  • Customizable color themes and card decks

Quick Rules:

Four players receive an even card distribution. Each player bids "high" (black card) or "low" (red card), revealing their bid cards sequentially, starting to the dealer's left. The first black card signifies a "grand," making the round "high" (teams strive for maximum tricks). If all bids are red, the round is "low" (teams aim for minimal tricks).

In "high" rounds, the player to the right of the "granding" player leads; in "low" rounds, the player to the dealer's left leads. Players follow suit if possible; otherwise, they play any card. The highest card of the led suit wins the trick. The trick winner leads the next trick.

Scoring: In "high" rounds, the "granding" team earns a point per trick exceeding six. If they fail to reach seven tricks, the opposing team earns one or two points per trick over six, based on the "set bonus" setting. In "low" rounds, teams earn a point per trick below seven.
