Elven Curse

This simple, non-field RPG challenges you to escape a cursed forest.

Prologue: You're the village's best hunter, drawn to a national hunting tournament near the royal capital. After your first night camping, you discover a disturbing scene: the tournament grounds are deserted, abandoned by hunters and national guards alike. You attempt to retrace your steps, only to find yourself disoriented and lost within the forest's strange, shifting paths. This is no ordinary wilderness; something is amiss.

The Elven Curse: Aided by a mysterious quarter-elf, you must use your hunting skills to navigate this cursed forest and find your way out. Gameplay is streamlined, using a maximum of three buttons outside the main menu.

Character Creation: While character customization is limited, you can repeatedly reroll your stats before starting the game. Stat increases upon leveling are only visible on this screen. This information is not accessible during gameplay. Losing all your life force means game over, unless you possess at least two talismans.

Foria, the Peddler Quarter-Elf: A young (or not so young) quarter-elf who secretly assists your escape, leveraging the forest's ancient spirits.

Gameplay:

• Exploration: The forest is divided into sections, each requiring exploration to reveal paths. Exploration success depends on the "fog depth" of each area and your character stats. If your life force runs low, use poison antidotes or rare talismans to recover. You might need to return to Foria for help.

• Beast Encounters: The forest is teeming with wildlife, from wolves to surprisingly aggressive frogs and rabbits! Defeating them yields hides for trading with Foria. Unlike typical RPGs, combat is not for leveling up. Battles are optional; you can avoid them entirely (though this requires luck or skillful play). As a hunter, you use a bow and arrow. Maintain distance to attack safely, or use wound medicine for healing. Closing the distance triggers a one-sided attack, forcing you to either retreat (with a chance of failure) or use a flash ball provided by Foria for a guaranteed escape.

• Cloak System: Craft a cloak from collected materials (branches, resin, leather) to enhance your abilities. You can layer up to three cloaks, boosting stats additively. Cloaks can even restore life force, but beware, they can be damaged and destroyed during gameplay. This is the only equipment modification available; your bow and arrow remain unchanged.
